AWFUL ABOUT ALLAN
Anthony Perkins stars as Allan in this suspenseful, well-shot PSYCHO hommage.
As a made-for-

flick, it utilizes many of the same kinds of 'standard back lot' sets
that Hitchcock used in his effort to lend a kind of bland verisimillitude
to the proceedings. Herein, Perkins plays yet another 'on the edge' anti-hero,
very reminiscent of his later role in the PSYCHO
sequels, particularly his understated work in PSYCHO III. This time around,
poor Allan rescues his sister from their burning home, only to become
blinded in the process. But was it an accidental fire, or was it arson?

fan should miss this gorgeous example of revisionist Western at its finest.

that this British adaptation of Carroll's novel isn't better known stateside.
For while it has its share of detractors, we think the approach director
William Sterling took is imaginative and impressive; in that while it
is all clearly shot on a small stage and with a limited budget, the care
and cleverness which the talented crew and
cast achieve with their enthusiasm and creativity really makes this much
better than its critical reputation. And what a cast -- Fiona Fullerton,
Peter Sellers, Ralph Richardson, Dudley Moore, Spike Milligan and Michael
Crawford! Enchanting and unexpectedly faithful to the surreal tone of
